Australian climber Bianca Jane Adler has become the youngest Australian to summit Mount Everest after successfully reaching the world’s highest peak at the age of 18 during Nepal’s busy 2026 spring climbing season.
According to Kathmandu-based expedition operator, Adler reached the 8,849-meter summit on May 20 under favorable weather conditions. She was accompanied by experienced Nepali climbing guides Pemba Chhiring Sherpa and Ngudu Sherpa.
The achievement marks a major milestone in Adler’s mountaineering journey and places her among the youngest climbers to accomplish the feat from Australia. Her successful ascent comes during an active Everest season in Nepal, where the Department of Tourism has issued climbing permits to 494 foreign climbers for the spring 2026 expedition period.
Bianca Adler previously gained international attention in 2024 after becoming the youngest female climber to summit Manaslu at just 16 years old. Her latest Everest success further strengthens her growing reputation in the mountaineering world.
Mountaineering also runs deep in the Adler family. Her father, Paul Adler, successfully summited Everest in 2007, while her mother, Fionna Adler, reached the summit in 2006, continuing a remarkable family legacy in high-altitude climbing.
The Everest spring climbing season typically runs from April to May, when climbers take advantage of short periods of stable weather to attempt the summit of the world’s tallest mountain.
