Flydubai Announces Direct Daily Flights Between Dubai and Pokhara

Flydubai has officially opened bookings for its regular direct daily flights connecting Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Pokhara International Airport (PKR), marking a major milestone in Nepal’s international aviation sector.

According to an announcement made through the airline’s official Facebook page on Thursday, the new service is scheduled to commence on September 23, making Flydubai the first international carrier to operate regular direct flights between the United Arab Emirates and Pokhara.

The launch of this route is expected to significantly boost tourism and economic activity in western Nepal by providing international travelers with direct access to one of the country’s most popular tourism destinations.

In its announcement, Flydubai highlighted Pokhara’s importance as a premier tourism hub in the “Land of the Himalayas,” known for its stunning natural beauty, adventure activities, and rich cultural heritage. The airline stated that the new service aims to make travel to the region more convenient and accessible for visitors from around the world.

Before confirming the route, Flydubai conducted a comprehensive assessment of Pokhara International Airport, focusing on security, safety, and operational infrastructure. The airline carried out a high-level inspection to ensure that the airport met its international operational standards. Following the successful evaluation, Flydubai obtained the necessary regulatory approvals to begin scheduled operations.

The introduction of daily international flights is widely regarded as a significant achievement for Pokhara’s aviation sector. Since the inauguration of Pokhara International Airport, tourism stakeholders and local businesses have been eagerly awaiting regular international connectivity, which has traditionally been concentrated at Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport.

Laxman Subedi, President of the Hotel Association Pokhara Nepal (HAPN), welcomed the development, noting that the direct connection will simplify travel arrangements for international visitors by eliminating the need to transit through Kathmandu. He emphasized that the new route is expected to increase foreign tourist arrivals and enhance accessibility for both leisure and business travelers.

Bookings for the new service are now available through the Flydubai website and authorized travel agencies. With flights set to begin in late September, the airline has encouraged travelers to book early and take advantage of the new direct gateway to the heart of the Himalayas.
